↩ Jacob's Ephemerata

A blog of aggregated miscellanea and things I like uncovered from my daily travails. I'm @jacobjay, a peripatetic designer/developer of British persuasion, having interests in gastronomy, fashion, technology, interiors and sustainability. I'm currently living between New Delhi and France, working on a Lua web platform and e-commerce. I dig Macs, mountain biking and smelly cheese.

There’s an amusing meme going around Facebook. Create your [fictional] band’s first album cover:
Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:RandomThe first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
Go to http://www.quotationspage.com/random.phpThe last four or five words of the very last quote is the title of your album.
Go to http://flickrcc.bluemountains.net/The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
Use Photoshop/Picnik/etc. to put it all together.
Post it [to Facebook and tag the friends you want to join in].
The original instructions suggest using the Flickr interesting page for the photo, but honestly that’s going to lead to trouble as those shots are usually copyrighted and provide no rights for re-use, let alone re-mixing in this fashion. Indeed find Creative Commons licenced images, but check that they allow remixing and if it needs to be attributed (i.e. mention who took the oiriginal).
The above is my result, I’m chuffed at its awesomeness (okay I threw in some lens flare and motion blur, schucks). Wikipedia article. Flickr photo by Eugenio. Quote.
